Flush with Success: A Bathroom Renovation Triumph

Choosing to redo a school teacher's bathroom as a community giveback project can be a thoughtful and impactful decision for several reasons:

  1. Supporting Educators: Teachers play a vital role in our communities by educating and shaping the future generation. By focusing on their needs and comfort, you show appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

  2. Improving Work Environment: A well-maintained and comfortable workspace can positively affect a teacher's morale and productivity. Upgrading their bathroom can contribute to a more pleasant work environment.

  3. Symbolic Gesture: Renovating a teacher's bathroom is a symbolic gesture of gratitude, indicating that the community values the important work that educators do.

  4. Community Connection: Community giveback projects help build a sense of unity and connection among community members. It shows that the community cares about the well-being of its educators.

  5. Practical Impact: A renovated bathroom can provide practical benefits, such as improved hygiene, accessibility, and functionality, making it a more comfortable and convenient space for teachers to use.

  6. Inspiring Others: Setting an example by choosing to support educators can inspire others in the community to get involved in similar initiatives or give back in their own ways.

  7. Alignment with Community Needs: It's essential to consider the specific needs and preferences of your community when selecting a giveback project. If improving a teacher's bathroom aligns with the identified needs or requests of the school or local educators, it can be a meaningful choice.

Ultimately, the decision to redo a school teacher's bathroom as a community giveback project demonstrates empathy and a commitment to supporting those who contribute to the education and development of children in your community.

Bathroom Before

Mailroom Before

We started this process by clearing and cleaning out the mailroom and bathrooms. Then we used Sherwin Williams paint to refresh all the walls.

The inspiration for these rooms came from the geometric shape of the pattern on the wallpaper (Found Here) that looked like a honeycomb. Beulah Elementary Schoolโ€™s mascot is the Bees. We wanted to be able to incorporate that into the design process.

These bathrooms felt clinical and not always welcoming. The principal at Beulah desired for the bathrooms to look aesthetically pleasing, as these are the restrooms that parents and guests use. We added board and batten walls to elevate the space. For this portion of the project, we called in reinforcements from our friend Jen @foreveryoungfarmhouse. She was amazing and helped us knock this out quickly!

We wrapped up the project by adding a wall-mounted shelf from Amazon (Find it Here) and lots of accessories and artwork found at Hobby Lobby! You will be able to find all the items linked below.

We were honored to be a part of this project for the staff at Beulah Elementary! Also, BIG THANKS to Home-n-Around Electric for sponsoring a large portion of this bathroom renovation! We are blessed with amazing community partners. Check out the final result of this renovation's success!
